An important message from Dave Stanley, Co-Chair, for Methodist Laity Reform Movement Board of Directors

Do you know any Iowa United Methodist who should be a delegate to our important UM General Conference and Jurisdictional Conference in 2012?  Please pray about this.

Will you please talk to that person NOW, ask him or her to become a nominee, emphasize the Tuesday Feb. 1 deadline, and give or send the attached documents?

Might God be calling YOU to seek election as a delegate?  Please pray.  Please review the attached delegate election information and nomination form.

bulletBy Tuesday, Feb. 1, the attached nomination form must be completed, signed, and received by your District Superintendent.  We believe you can use U.S. mail, fax, or an email attachment which includes signature.
bulletBy Tuesday, Feb. 1, the nominee must also send by electronic means (such as email attachment) to the Conference Secretary: a recent digital photo and a statement (maximum 250 words) of biographical information and your position on critical issues facing the church.  Send to Patty LaGree at patty.lagree@iaumc.org

The General Conference (April 24-May 4, 2012, Tampa, Florida) is our church’s governing body.  Its decisions have a big impact on our church’s priorities and spending, whether our church stays faithful to Scripture, and whether we grow or die.

The Jurisdictional Conference (July 17-21, 2012, Akron, Ohio) elects Bishops.

The June 2011 Iowa Annual Conference will elect 7 lay and 7 clergy delegates to the General and Jurisdictional Conferences, plus 7 more lay & 7 more clergy as Jurisdictional delegates (total 28 delegates to be elected).

Any question?  Need help?  Please email info@mreform.org

Or ask Patty LaGree, Conference Secretary:  patty.lagree@iaumc.org 515-974-8939
